Beauty Products You Need in Your Arsenal

Those who know me, know I LOVE experimenting and trying new beauty products. #makeupjunkie

As I've gotten older, however, I have come to appreciate the ease and comfort of relying on some old standbys. These are my go-to products that I use almost daily. Most of them can be bought at your local drugstore, Target or Amazon. I generally don't spend a ton on makeup but I am willing to spend more on my cleansing routine.

Face Cleansing Regimen | Rodan + Fields

I've always been of the mindset that starting with a good base is essential to looking your best. The Unblemish regimen has changed my life! And I'm not exaggerating. Until I found R+F, I ALWAYS worried about my cystic acne. Nothing, and I mean nothing, resolved my constant battle against it. I suffered from it as a teen, and continued to suffer from it as an adult. I developed scars and pigment discoloration due to the scarring. And I know I'm not the only one.

As a teen, I was extremely self-conscious of my face and hated swimming in public because of it. As an adult, I never wanted to leave the house or have my pictures taken without makeup. My husband considers this an extravagant expense. But until you've actually suffered from a skin condition, like acne or rosacea, you don't really understand how frustrating and embarrassing it truly is. And guess what, I spend less on my makeup regimen. Win-win!

Rodan + Fields has been a life-saver! And I know from personal experience that having skin you feel comfortable in can change how you feel about yourself. It is a rare occasion that I don't clean my face before going to bed at night.Washing your face at night is a critical piece in helping you ward off aging, acne, inflammation, etc. Read this article if you need convincing. And this one for tips + tricks.

Body Lotion | Hempz Body Lotion

Hempz is Paraben-Free, Gluten-Free, 100% Vegan, THC-free. This is currently available in the original formula at Costco! I love the original scent but they have lots of other options, too, at Ulta or Amazon.

Foundation | Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth

A couple months ago, I received a free bottle of this foundation through Influenster. I was pleasantly surprised! It has been my go-to foundation every day since and when I run out, I'll probably buy another bottle. Read my full review of this foundation here.

BB Cream | Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector

In the summer (and on the weekends), I like to use less makeup. This tinted moisturizer from Neutrogena gives me just enough coverage to even out my skin. Plus, it has Retinol and SPF 20. Double bonus!

Blush | Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

This blush has rave reviews on everything from Pinterest to Amazon. This color is a peachy-pink, which is perfect for almost all skin tones. You might be a little scared to try it out because it looks REALLY peachy on the shelf but trust me, you won't look like your great aunt when you apply it. You know, the one who always looked like this →.

The color is highly pigmented so you don't need to use a lot of product which means it will last you a while. And for the price point it can't be beat!

Eyeliner | Thrive Causemetics Infinity Waterproof Eyeliner

I recently found this gem of a product and use it daily as a tightliner. Don't know what tightlining is? Watch my makeup routine video. Because the eyeliner is creamy and easily pigmented it applies really easily. I also appreciate the mission of Thrive - beauty with a purpose. To get $10 off your first order, use this link.

Eyeshadow | Maybelline Master Prime Eyeshadow Base

Truth be told, I don't actually use eyeshadow unless it's date night. For my every day routine I use this amazing product. It gives just enough color for me to feel pulled together but not look overdone. And a little bit goes a long way. I just dab some on my eyelids and smooth it out with my ring finger (the one you should always use when applying product on or around your eyes). It comes in a shimmer, matte, or smooth. I personally like the shimmer color (illuminate) but I might have to try the matte next time around.

Brushes | Sonia Kashuk

Sonia Kashuk has amazing brushes that won't break the bank. And she just redid her whole line with some fun, new colors. I recently shared some of my favs here.

Nail Polish | Essie

Besides the rainbow of colors, Essie just makes a good product. This post is a review of their Treat Love & Color line they released last year.

Styling Products | Kristen Ess

I've tried a variety of Kristen Ess products and have loved all of them so far. Right now I'm using her Blow Dry Mist. It helps your hair dry faster and seals up those ends. All things I need. I've also tried her Rose Gold tint spray. See my review of that here. Just as a warning, the products can be a little too perfumy, so if you're sensitive this line is probably not your best option.

Those are my go-to products I use on a routine basis. What are your favs? I'd love to know!
